Google Maps drag events - map click event

I am trying to make the map drag events work, but I'd like to be able to prevent clicks while the map is being dragged.

I can't find any such functionality in the API docs, so it seems like it's not possible. Unfortunately, I cannot find any other examples of dragging google maps, and I'd like to be able to use the API instead of just using the functionality provided by the Google Maps API web site. If anyone could shed some light on how to do this, I'd greatly appreciate it.

I would guess that this was never intended to be possible by the Google Maps API team. They provide lots of convenience methods for making do-your-thing-with-your-location applications, and they want you to write only what Google has spent money on designing the API for. They see it as a "gap" in their APIs, and if you try to "abuse" this gap by adding functionality that they didn't think about, you get a bad case of "GOOGLE MAPS API HIJACKER! I WILL BRUTALIZE YOU!"

I'd suggest using the Google Maps API web site's DragAndDrop functionality in the mapping services instead, or writing your own drag and drop functionality.
